Bio

Jan Biros has been a Rotarian since she retired in 2016. She spent thirty years in higher education administration in Philadelphia and joined the Phoenixville Rotary Club to learn more about her community. She supported Rotaplast and went as a non-medical volunteer on a mission to Myanmar in 2017. She was president of her Rotary club for 2 years from 2020-22. During her club presidency, member participation improve and donations to the community were increased substantially, including annual Rise Against Hunger events done in collaboration with Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Phoenixville.

Jan served as president of the Gundaker Foundation, helping it stay vibrant and successful during the difficult times after the pandemic. She is also currently the congregational president of Temple Brith Achim, a Reform synagogue in King-of-Prussia, PA. Jan has been married to her wonderful, patient, husband, Steve Hirsch, for 48 years and has two sons and two granddaughters.
